The appointment of Mrs. Minnie Wimbish as Historian of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc., was divinely inspired. It was historic in that she was the first woman to be named to the position, and she brought to it a unique perspective.

Her records loom far beyond the facts of the meetings as her words take on a life of their own. Although never intended to be a comprehensive history of the Convention, Through the Looking Glass is a prismatic presentation of the GMBC at its best through the eyes of a woman whose heart for the people and the work of the Convention is superseded only by her love of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
